Week 1 January 2011

We started off 2011 in style actually seeing in the New Year with a number of good friends at home. After big sleep ins from the whole family we started off the year with a quiet day at home, tidying up from the day before and getting ready for a big first week in the New Year. Day 2 of the New Year saw Christopher riding his new horse Scampy with Riley and Cass around Allambie and Luke starting on his new sport of riding Coco. Christopher continued his 2010 tradition of being with best friends Billy and Cass, and sleeping over at Cass' place before embarking on a week of tackers. Luke had a tackers introduction with Cousin Edward which they both really enjoyed heading out to sea very quickly with them steering. Christophers week of tackers meant we spent alot of the week at Pt Leo Boat Club but as the weather was very nice there wasn't too many complaints. Each night was full of socialising and activities with the African Drumming starting up again on Monday night followed by dinner. Tuesday night Liam's birthday was celebrated in a low key manner at the boat club. Wednesday night we finally got to catch up with the Watson's at Joan and Mals and saw them the next day at the boat club for a late lunch. Thursday Caroline, Pete, Hamish and Samantha came to stay for the first time at Main Ridge which all enjoyed. After a very hot Friday morning and witnessing the end of tackers we spent the afternoon at Jenny's pool before heading to Somers Yacht Club with Caroline and co for dinner with Si and Di and the Gardes. A very hot evening but stunning netherless with the kids swimming and building sand castles till dark. After breakfast at Flinders Bakery we said goodbye to Caroline and co and Ollie joined the boys for a ride at Jenny's. Still very hot, we all enjoyed a swim afterwards and Raife made up the boys contingent. In the afternoon the boys all went to the Gardes to try their new water slide, but unfortunately Chris didn't get to participate due to a nasty driveway fall resulting in gravel rash knee and elbow. A huge change came through as we headed off to Katey's place for a BBQ again with the Gardes and the Johnsons. Another late night but enjoyable for all with Ollie staying for a sleepover. Sunday saw us experiencing Yum Cha for the first time Grandpa John prior to going to Silvers Circus a Christmas Gift from Julie and Co in London. Much better than expected with amazing juggling and motorbike skills being demonstrated. The week started off where it started with African Drumming followed by Pizza and everyone falling into bed very very tired. Looking forward to a slightly quieter week in week 2.
